On wednesday we traveled to Las Varillas for our district meeting like always but the real reason we went was to give a baptismal interview to a lady named silvina. I knew her from before, she was going to get baptized 3 months ago but there was some kind of problem and it never happened! Thankfully she has been able to get excited again to be baptized! She was baptized this saturday!
On thursday we had some goals in our area, which were to have 3 baptismal interviews with our investigators. We can't give interviews to our own investigators so the zone leaders came to do it, and It was a really good day! 2 people of the 3 were able to pass their interviews, one of them wasn't ready. We also had Milagros Ortega getting ready to be baptized too so we had the possibility of 3 baptisms on sunday. I felt really good about the work this day. however, in the night time after returning to the apartment we got a call and I found out that I was to be transferred. I was really sad because I love Arroyito and we have a lot of people to teach there and I also had made good friends there.
On friday we were just working with the people who had their baptismal interviews to keep preparing them for baptism. There was a lot of problems though...one of the people is a kid named Leo. He is 12 and has serious anger issues. If you make a joke he will get very mad. He hates my companion because my companion got mad at him when Leo made a joke about marijuana. He likes me though and he asked me to baptize him. The problem is that his dad is angry with the world because somebody robbed some lambs from his farm, and he is living out in the country at his farm to guard it. And leo says he will only get baptized if His dad comes to the baptism. So we have been trying to get the dad to come back, but he doesn't want to. One of the other people we are preparing for baptism is ezequiel, however somebody is accusing him of stealing a motorcycle even though it was actually his brother...its never easy to baptize anyone because satan tries really hard to stop it every time.
On saturday I started going around saying goodbye to everyone...we ate lunch with my convert milagros zapata. I have a notebook that I bring around for people to write in so they were able to write in that. I was sad to say goodbye to them mostly because I couldn't get much accomplished with them. I baptized milagros but her whole family is still inactive and it made me sad. They promised they would go to church on sunday to see my farewell testimony. After that milagros took us to see the river in arroyito...its what arroyito is known for but I had never gone until now. It is a really nice place actually. We took a lot of pictures and went on this big shaking bridge thing...we were sitting there in the middle of the bridge and some guy came across on a motorcycle going super fast and the whole bridge was shaking like crazy I thought it was going to break and we had to run off or get hit haha. In the evening we had to go take the water out of the baptismal font with buckets...because if you can believe it the font is broken again. Im sick of it, the font never works, and until you experience it no one can understand how awful it is to take the water out with buckets. It kills your back and you get soaked. But we were expecting to have baptisms the next day so we had to do it. We brought david with us (who is going on a mission soon) so he could get a taste of mission life haha. After that I packed all night until 2 am it was great....just kidding its the worst part of the mission, I really dislike it.
Sunday was super anti climatic. We went early in the morning to pick up the people who were supposed to get baptized but there were some problems, I don't feel like going into it, but just know that all 3 fell through. Im sure they will all get baptized next week, its just sad because I wont be there! It was my last sunday there though so I had to say goodbye to everyone at the church...I was doing fine (emotionally) until after I gave my last testimony, and my convert Antonia (a 67 little sweet old lady) didn't know I was leaving until she heard what I said up front, and when I went back to sit down she started crying a ton it broke my heart and tons of people started crying it was crazy. This has to be the hardest part of the mission...saying goodbye to the people who you've seen completely change their lives. The people that we have baptized here are soooo much happier now. im just glad I got to be a part of it. Im really going to miss Arroyito. I spent the rest of that sunday going around saying goodbye to everyone and taking pictures with them. Ive made a ton of really great friends here. The great thing about the church is you can go anywhere in the world and find great people who will be your friends no matter who you are or what language you speak. That night we set out in a bus to Cordoba, and slept there with the missionaries who work in the office. There are 12 of them in one apartment.....lets just say no body gets any sleep there haha those guys are crazy!
Monday I spent the day with the guys who work in the office...it was really fun because I was the only "gringo" there in a group of people from brazil, colombia, dominican republic, chile, panama, argentina and others, its one of my favorite parts about the mission, getting to know people from all over the world. It was also fun to see how far ive come with my spanish! Its not a problem at all anymore! The office people have a lot of stress full work to do! (for example one of them is in charge of all the money in the mission, another is in charge of passport work and stuff) but they have a lot of perks..one of which is they can eat where ever they want and the mission covers it, so basically its kind of a party there in the office all the time with tons of food! It was a fun day haha.
This morning (tuesday) i got up early with all my bags and went to the terminal to meet my new companion...he is from peru and he seems like a great companion so far! He says we have a baptism scheduled for this weekend so thats great!
Thats a bout it for the week! Ill upload a lot of pictures!
Love you all! Sorry I didn't put a scripture, next week I will!
